21 STAGES OF MEDITATION
21 Stages of Meditation
Refining Consciousness & Developing Emotional Intelligence
An experiential course with Jivan Mukta, PhD · January–May 2027
Meditation offers a practical way to study and refine our experience of consciousness. The 21 Stages of Meditation provides a framework for exploring distinct states of awareness, including their emotional qualities, patterns of attention and felt experience of energy.
Each stage is approached through explanation and direct practice. You learn to recognise its characteristics, observe how it is experienced in your own body and mind, and develop a more precise understanding of your responses. This approach brings emotional intelligence into the study of meditation: learning to distinguish emotions, notice changes in perception and relate more consciously to what you experience.
Jivan Mukta brings more than two decades of Kundalini Yoga teaching and teacher training, a PhD in the Study of Religions from the University of Helsinki, and his work developing Meditative Healing. His approach connects sustained meditative practice with the careful study of religious and spiritual experience.
Across three journeys, we explore all 21 stages through guided meditation, reflection and discussion. The course unfolds over five months, allowing time to revisit the practices and relate what you discover to everyday life.
